CanSkate/Starskate Code of Conduct

  • All members shall always demonstrate good sportsmanship, courtesy, consideration and respect towards others.
  • Be safe on the ice.
  • All skaters up to and including level 5 are required to wear a helmet; gloves are mandatory for all skaters regardless of level. Any skater who does not have the proper equipment will not be permitted to participate in the session.
  • Skaters are permitted to take to the ice only after the zamboni has left the ice, the zamboni gate is closed, and a coach is either rinks side or on the ice.
  • Skaters should take to the ice in an orderly manner, without pushing or shoving.  Skaters shall always be aware of all other skaters on the ice and shall maintain a safe distance from all other skaters.
  • Do not stop and talk to spectators in the viewing gallery. This creates a potentially dangerous situation since you are not paying attention to other skaters.
  • Never chew gum while on the ice.
  • Use the appropriate dressing rooms. Under no circumstances shall a person of the opposite gender enter into a dressing room designated "boys" or "girls".
  • Dressing rooms and other areas around the arena are to be left clean and all garbage picked up.
  • Skaters representing the Club at any function or competition are expected to conduct themselves in an acceptable and responsible manner.
  • Any Club member defacing the club or public property or other skater’s personal property will, at the discretion of the Board be subject to suspension.
  • Anyone caught in the act of theft of any properties will be subject to disciplinary actions up to and including the cancellation of membership as well as prosecution to the full extent of the law.
  • The illegal use of alcohol or drugs by any member or employee of the Tillsonburg Skating Club during any skating club activities, either, at home or away will result in suspension or dismissal of the member or employee from the Tillsonburg  Skating Club at the discretion of the Board of Directors.
  • Use appropriate language. Swearing or the use of abusive language while on the ice, in one of our off-ice classes or any other part of the arena is not appropriate. The rink is a training centre for all ages.
  • All skaters are expected to comply with the Tillsonburg Skating Club (TSC's) and Skate Canada’s CODE OF CONDUCT.

Violations of TSC’s CanSkate/STARSkate Code of Conduct will not be tolerated. If you have concerns, either speak to your skater’s coach, or seek out a member of our Board of Directors.
